Since times immemorial,
human beings have this tendency of decorating their homes with exquisite art pieces.
Cabinetry and furniture account for a major part of home decor inventory.
Handles and knobs, though small and petty, yet plays a significant part in
adding elegance and character to the area it decors. They are customized to
suit the shapes, sizes, material and finishes adorning the space it covers. The
pricing also varies from a few dollars to thousands or hundreds depending on
the material type and jewelry put into its fabrication.

A word of advice would,
however, entail not to take separate measurements of the doors.
Go through the
below-listed steps to kick-start the process along with having an in-depth
understanding of proper measurements before drilling the holes.
Apparatus required: drilling machine powered by electric machine,
compass, measuring tape, combination square and level, a pencil and some scrap
wooden pieces.
Employing the pulls
Once the selection of pull
is finalized, it should be determined as to where to place the pull on the
cabinet. The pulls should always be 1 inch from the side edges of the door for
a cabinet. For higher calibers, the pulls should, however, be placed on a lower
level for easy access.
How to make a jig
cut a wooden scrape piece
of plywood of 1/4 inches. Thereafter, paste 3/4 inch scrape with the strong
adhesive which will serve the purpose of alignment for the jig. You can use a
square to ensure that it turns out to be square.
Transferring measurements
Put the guide on the table
and reinsert measurements to jig with the help of compass or measurement tape.
Drilling holes
Use the nail or an awl for
making pilot holes and thereafter drill holes into the jig. It is to be advised
that the drill bit should ideally be of similar size or a little greater than
the diameter of the hole in the respective pull. This will serve as the guide
or template for drilling holes in these cabinets.
Placing jigs
Place the above-mentioned
jigs against the comet of the cabinets and thereafter drill holes in the
cabinet. Drill from the back till the front of the door. The same procedure
should be followed for each cabinet door.
Insert the screws from the back of the door and then screw
the pull on tightly.
The last step would be
installing cabinet pulls in which you need to consider the boring size and
location where the pull should be located.
